In their final league match of the year, Monaghan United U-13’s hosted a strong Cavan Celtic side at home in Gortekeegan. After forward Eoin O’Hanlon opened the scoring for the home side, Monaghan unfortunately fell to their first league defeat of the season as the lost 2-1 to Cavan late on.
Monaghans Man of the Match award goes to Josh Kelly who put in fantastic shift in midfield, dictating the tempo of the game from the first whistle, showing both great attacking and defensive qualities.
Next Sunday (19th March) Monaghan United U-13’s play Carrickmacross in the Final of the CMUL Shield in Cootehill. The club & management would like to ask all the parents and family members to come out and support the team.
